How much does Base44 cost in 2026? Every plan from Free to Elite, how credits work, hidden costs, and which plan a small business actually needs.

Table of contents

Base44 pricing ranges from $0 to $200 per month. There is a free plan and four paid plans — Starter, Builder, Pro and Elite — costing $16, $40, $80 and $160 per month when billed annually, or $20, $50, $100 and $200 when billed monthly.

But the sticker price is only part of the story. Base44 runs on credits, some key features are locked to higher plans, and unused credits disappear at the end of each month. At Creatsid we build client websites with Base44, so in this guide we'll explain what each plan really gets you and which one a small business actually needs.

Short answer for small businesses: if you want a public website on your own domain, budget for the Builder plan — about $480 a year with annual billing.

Base44 plans at a glance

Builder is the first plan with a custom domain, which makes it the realistic minimum for any business website.

Plan Annual billing (USD/mo) Monthly billing (USD/mo) Message credits/mo Integration credits/mo Custom domain
Free $0 $0 25 100 No
Starter $16 $20 100 2,000 No
Builder $40 $50 250 10,000 Yes + free domain for year 1
Pro $80 $100 500 20,000 Yes
Elite $160 $200 1,200 50,000 Yes

Figures from publicly listed 2026 pricing (NoCode MBA). Annual billing saves about 20%. Enterprise plans with custom pricing are also available through Base44's sales team.

Each Base44 plan explained

Free plan ($0)

The free plan lets you try the full builder with no credit card. You get 25 message credits a month, capped at 5 per day, plus 100 integration credits. That's enough to build one very simple page and learn how the AI responds to your prompts — not enough to finish a real business website. Your site stays on a Base44 web address.

Starter plan ($16–$20/month)

Starter quadruples your message credits to 100 a month and unlocks unlimited apps and direct code edits. It suits hobby projects and testing an idea. The big limitation for businesses: no custom domain, no GitHub connection and no backend functions.

Builder plan ($40–$50/month)

Builder is the plan most small businesses need. It adds your own domain (with a free domain for the first year), GitHub integration so you can export your code, backend functions and a choice of AI models, along with 250 message credits and 10,000 integration credits a month.

Pro plan ($80–$100/month)

Pro doubles Builder's credits to 500 message and 20,000 integration credits, and adds premium support and early access to beta features. It makes sense once your site has many active users or uses AI features heavily.

Elite plan ($160–$200/month)

Elite offers 1,200 message and 50,000 integration credits with priority support. It's designed for high-traffic apps and agencies managing several client projects.

How Base44 credits work (and the hidden costs)

Base44 charges in two kinds of credits, and running out of either one stops work until next month or until you upgrade.

Message credits are what you spend while building. Every prompt — "add a contact form", "make the header blue" — uses credits, and complex requests can use more than simple ones.

Integration credits are what your live site spends. Each time a visitor triggers a built-in service, such as an AI reply, an email, an image or a file upload, it costs one credit.

Watch out for these five costs that aren't obvious from the pricing page:

  1. Revisions burn credits fast. Vague prompts lead to rework. On a recent project, [add your real example, e.g. "tweaking fonts and spacing used 40 of our 250 credits"].
  2. No rollover. Credits you don't use this month are lost.
  3. No top-ups. There's no pay-as-you-go option; if you run out, you upgrade or wait.
  4. The real entry price is $40, not $16. A custom domain requires Builder, so Starter isn't a realistic option for a business site.
  5. AI features scale with traffic. A chatbot used by 100 visitors a day, five messages each, needs about 15,000 integration credits a month — Pro plan territory.

The good news: hosting is included on every plan, so there's no separate hosting bill.

Which Base44 plan should you choose?

For a typical small business website, choose Builder on annual billing: $480 a year, custom domain included.

Your situation Plan Cost per year (annual billing)
Just exploring Free $0
Personal project or testing an idea Starter $192
Business website on your own domain Builder $480
Site with many users or heavy AI features Pro $960
Agency or high-traffic app Elite $1,920

Three ways to save money:

  • Test on the free plan first — you'll know within a few sessions whether Base44 suits you.
  • Pay annually to save about 20%; on Builder that's $120 a year.
  • Write detailed prompts. One clear instruction costs far less than five rounds of fixes.

Base44 pricing vs Lovable and alternatives

Base44 has the cheapest entry plan, but if you need a custom domain, Lovable's $25 plan can work out cheaper than Base44's $40 Builder plan.

Tool Free plan Entry paid plan (USD/mo) Pricing model Best for
Base44 Yes $16 (annual) Credits Non-coders who want backend built in
Lovable Yes $25 Credits Design-led sites and MVPs

FAQ

How much is Base44 per month?

From $0 to $200. Paid plans cost $16, $40, $80 or $160 per month on annual billing, or $20, $50, $100 or $200 on monthly billing.

Is Base44 free?

Yes, there's a free plan with 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, and no credit card needed. It's for testing, not for running a business website.

What does the Base44 Starter plan include?

100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits, unlimited apps and code editing for $16–$20 a month. It does not include a custom domain.

Does Base44 include hosting?

Yes. Hosting is included on every plan at no extra cost.

What happens when I run out of Base44 credits?

You can't send more build prompts, and your live site stops processing integration features until credits reset next month — or until you upgrade.

Can I cancel Base44 anytime?

Yes, from your billing dashboard. On an annual plan you keep access until the end of the paid period.

Is Base44 worth the price?

For a small business that wants a simple website and is willing to learn, Base44 is good value: about $480 a year on Builder, hosting included, far less than hiring a developer. The real cost is time — learning to prompt well and refining the design yourself.
